Ambegaon Police have apprehended two habitual burglars involved in a string of house break-ins across Pune, leading to the recovery of stolen property valued at Rs4,66,000 and solving four major theft cases.

The accused, Ayush Sanjay Kharat (20) of Sukhsagar Nagar and Aryan Kailas Agalave (19) from Gokulnagar, were arrested following a targeted investigation initiated after a house break-in at Santoshmata Mandir, Tirupati Colony, on March 16, 2025, at around 3:00 AM.

A case was registered at the Ambegaon Police Station under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Acting on a confidential tip-off, Police Constables Hanmant Masal and Chetan Gore, under the supervision of Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Kalamkar, conducted a focused operation that led to the suspects’ arrest.

During the investigation, the police recovered 22 grams of gold ornaments, four laptops, a motorcycle, and an auto rickshaw—all stolen from various incidents, totaling Rs4,66,000 in value.

Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine revealed that Aryan Agalave was already wanted for housebreaking cases in the Kondhwa and Market Yard areas. Multiple theft cases have been registered against the duo in Ambegaon, Bharati Vidyapeeth, and Market Yard police stations.
