Amarion McMahon, Matthew Stanley Arrested for Crack Cocaine, Weapon Charges

Two men held without bail after narcotics and handgun found in Canandaigua

The Canandaigua Police Department has announced the arrest of two men following a significant narcotics investigation in the city and surrounding areas.

On Wednesday, 21-year-old Amarion McMahon of Geneva and 27-year-old Matthew Stanley of Red Creek were taken into custody. Authorities allege that during their arrest, both men were found in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine along with a defaced, loaded 9mm handgun. Both McMahon and Stanley are considered predicate felons, and McMahon is currently on parole.

The pair face multiple charges, including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Following their processing, McMahon and Stanley were held without bail after their CAP arraignment.

Police officials have indicated that additional felony charges are expected as the investigation continues.
