CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 21-year-old woman has pleaded guilty in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Cleveland’s West Side.

Amanda Liepold, of Parma, entered a guilty plea Thursday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas to aggravated vehicular homicide, a third-degree felony. She is scheduled to be sentenced on April 23.

The incident occurred on November 16, 2025, in the EcoVillage section of the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. Liepold struck Shirley Brown and fled the scene. According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, Brown was found on the Father Begin Bridge, a pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks at West 65th Street and Madison Avenue. Brown died from blunt force injuries to her torso and left arm.

Liepold was arrested on the same day of the crash. Court records show that she had a prior traffic citation in June 2023 for failure to control her vehicle, for which she pleaded guilty to a minor misdemeanor and paid a fine.
