Amanda Kirkendall Arrested After Stealing Ambulance in Indiana

Woman leads police on chase after ambulance theft in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) — A 43-year-old woman was arrested after stealing an ambulance and leading police on a chase in Richmond, Indiana.

Just after midnight on Thursday, Richmond Fire Department medics were called near the Wayne County Jail after a woman requested transportation to a local hospital. Upon arrival, medics requested police assistance.

When Richmond Police officers responded, the woman, identified as Amanda Brook Kirkendall, jumped into the ambulance and drove away. A pursuit ensued, ending at a local hospital.

Kirkendall was taken into custody and transported to Wayne County Jail. She faces preliminary charges including resisting law enforcement, motor vehicle theft, and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle. Her bond is set at $15,000.
