Amanda Burnside, 42, from East Quogue, was convicted of arson after prosecutors revealed her failed attempts to ignite two homes before successfully setting a third house on fire in Hampton Bays in November 2023.

Burnside poured gasoline onto a wicker bench on the front porch of the third home and ignited it with burning papers, while four people were inside. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Burnside now faces a sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
