The Government Railway Police (GRP), Bhopal, arrested repeat offender Aman Khan along with an accomplice Sameer on Sunday in connection with a theft at Bhopal Railway Station. The police recovered stolen goods valued at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh.
The duo had stolen a backpack from a sleeping passenger, Shrikant Kumar of Siwan, Bihar, after he arrived at Bhopal on the Gondwana Express on December 13, 2025. The backpack contained gold and silver ornaments, wristwatches, a mobile phone, and important documents.
SP (Railways) Rahul Kumar Lodha said that a special team formed using CCTV footage tracked and arrested Aman Khan and Sameer near the Western Railway Colony bridge.
Recovered items include a gold mangalsutra, earrings, nose ring, silver anklets, chains, toe rings, two wristwatches, and a mobile phone. Aman Khan, a known absconder with multiple prior criminal cases, has been produced before court for further proceedings.
Police confirmed that the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to crack down on repeat offenders at Bhopal Railway Station.
