The Alwal Police arrested two individuals late on Sunday for their involvement in a burglary, recovering stolen property worth over Rs9 lakh. The arrested duo has been identified as M Kousik (19), a daily wage worker, and B Ravi Teja (20), a salesperson at a clothing store.
According to the police, the two, who are childhood friends from Hasmathpet, resorted to burglary as a way to make quick money. On March 27, they completed a catering job in Alwal. After finishing their work, they targeted locked houses and eventually broke into a residence in Laxmi Nagar, Alwal. They forced open the main door and a locker inside the house, making off with gold jewellery.
The police, after analyzing footage from over 100 CCTV cameras, traced the motorcycle used in the crime to its owner, Kousik. Using this lead, the police arrested the suspects and recovered 12.3 tolas of gold jewellery, along with the bike used in the burglary.
The arrested individuals were produced before the court and have been sent to judicial remand as the investigation continues.
