Two individuals have been arrested for allegedly defrauding people by creating fake social media profiles, including one impersonating Haryana Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Mittal.

The accused have been identified as 27-year-old Munfaid from Pachgaon village and 20-year-old Sahid. Both were taken into custody on Tuesday evening, police confirmed on Thursday.

During the arrest, authorities recovered three mobile phones and six fake SIM cards used in the fraudulent activities. Investigators also found screenshots of the scams and bogus Instagram profiles stored on the devices.

According to police reports, the duo created fake accounts in the name of ADGP Alok Mittal and a well-known individual from Vasant Kunj, Delhi. Using these fabricated identities, they orchestrated various online scams, targeting unsuspecting users.

Under interrogation, both suspects admitted to the crimes. Following their confession, they were presented before a court and have since been placed in judicial custody.

A police spokesperson stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details may emerge as the case unfolds.
