ZAPATA, Texas – A major drug bust in Zapata County resulted in one arrest and the seizure of a large quantity of crack and powdered cocaine, authorities said.
The Zapata County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from special agents, carried out a narcotics investigation on Thursday, Dec. 11, at the 1200 block of Bravo Avenue.
During the operation, deputies seized 93 individually packaged pieces of crack cocaine and 22 grams of powdered cocaine.
34-year-old Almicar Vargas Jr. was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Zapata County Regional Jail for processing.
