OAKDALE, La. — Louisiana State Police have arrested Allison Doyle, a former City of Oakdale employee, on two felony counts of malfeasance in office related to a local property bidding scheme.
The arrest comes just two days after her husband, Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle, was charged in a large federal immigration fraud investigation.
Authorities allege Allison Doyle conspired with Chandrakant “Lala” Patel, a key figure in the ongoing federal U-Visa fraud case, to manipulate the bidding process for two city-owned properties in Oakdale. The investigation was carried out by the Criminal Intelligence Unit’s Alexandria Field Office.
This arrest adds to a growing list of individuals implicated in the multi-agency probe, which now involves at least six people, including current and former law enforcement officials.
Federal prosecutors recently unsealed a 60-count indictment accusing five defendants of exploiting the U-Visa program, which is intended to protect immigrant victims and witnesses of serious crimes. The defendants allegedly fabricated police reports to falsely document crimes that never occurred, enabling foreign nationals to fraudulently obtain protected immigration status.
Among those charged are:
Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle
City Marshal Michael “Freck” Slaney
Forest Hill Police Chief Glynn Dixon
Former Glenmora Police Chief Tebo Onishea
Oakdale businessman Chandrakant Patel
According to the indictment, Patel paid officers up to $5,000 for each fake report used to support fraudulent U-Visa applications.
Details regarding the specific properties involved in the local bid manipulation have not been released by state police.
Allison Doyle’s arrest marks the latest development in this extensive investigation into corruption and fraud affecting Oakdale’s law enforcement and city administration.
