POST FALLS, Idaho — Allison “Allie” Anderton, a trustee on the Coeur d’Alene School Board, was arrested early Sunday morning by Post Falls Police on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Post Falls Police Patrol Lt. Brian Harrison, the arrest took place around 1 a.m. near Beck Road and Expo Parkway on April 20. Anderton was later booked into the Kootenai County Jail.
The Coeur d’Alene School District confirmed they are aware of the incident, but emphasized that Anderton is not a district employee. “Any decision regarding her continued participation on the board of trustees is up to Ms. Anderton,” the district said in a statement.
Board Chair Rebecca Smith noted she has not yet spoken in detail with Anderton but plans to do so soon. “I do look forward to that discussion,” she said.
Anderton represents Zone 1, which includes communities such as Dalton Gardens and Fernan Lake Village. Her current term is set to expire in December.
The arrest report has been requested from Post Falls Police and further details are expected.
