On Wednesday, February 25, Habsiguda police arrested 43-year-old Allam Tejasvi for allegedly stealing gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 3.88 lakh from an elderly couple in Green Hills Colony, Habsiguda.

Tejasvi, originally from Kondanagula village, Nagarkurnool district, was apprehended near Habsiguda Bus Stop following a complaint by the victims. Previously, she had operated a small general store, which shut down due to financial difficulties, and was later employed as a caretaker at the couple’s residence for a monthly salary of Rs 18,000.

Over the course of her employment, Tejasvi reportedly built the couple’s trust, but mounting financial pressure allegedly drove her to steal items between October 2025 and February 2026. The stolen items included multiple gold chains, bangles, rings, a Chandraharam, and Rs 10,000 in cash, totaling 95.4 grams of gold and cash valued at Rs 3.88 lakh.

A case was registered at Osmania University Police Station, and Tejasvi has been produced before the court for judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to confirm whether any additional items were stolen.
