In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Yamunanagar police arrested two individuals—Alladiya, a resident of Atma Puri Colony (Old Hamida area), and Amjad, from Kamala Colony in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh—with 680 grams of heroin (smack), valued at approximately Rs50 lakh in the illegal market.
The arrests were made near Kalanaur village on the Haryana-UP border based on a tip-off. Suspicious behavior led police to intercept the duo at a barricade checkpoint. The search, conducted in the presence of Duty Magistrate DSP Kamaljit Singh, resulted in the heroin seizure.
According to Arun Kumar, in-charge of the Anti-Narcotics Cell, both suspects were arrested on the spot. They were later produced in Jagadhri court, where Alladiya was sent to judicial custody and Amjad was remanded to three days of police custody.
Police records show that Alladiya has seven previous criminal cases, including four related to drug trafficking. Meanwhile, Amjad faces charges under Section 307 in Uttar Pradesh and had been wanted in a Yamunanagar drug case since 2024.
Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal confirmed that this is the largest heroin seizure in Yamunanagar district in 2025. In the past month alone, the district police have registered eight drug smuggling cases, arresting 16 accused, including three commercial quantity seizures: 507g, 254g, and now 680g of heroin.
