Alina Habba Joins US Marshals in Arrest of Teen Gang Member Zakiyy Houser
Zakiyy Houser, an 18-year-old alleged member of the Bloods gang, was arrested during a coordinated law enforcement raid in Newark, New Jersey, on April 2, 2025. The operation included U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), local police, and newly appointed interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Alina Habba.
Houser, who has a history of weapons charges, was wanted for aggravated assault following an incident where he allegedly shot two individuals. He was taken into custody at the Pennington Court housing complex while wearing a blue Amazon delivery vest.
The dramatic takedown saw Habba, former attorney for President Donald Trump, actively observing and participating in the operation. Wearing a bulletproof vest and a law enforcement cap, Habba assisted U.S. Marshals as Houser was hauled out in handcuffs.
“I can’t believe how many cases you guys are juggling … Unbelievable. God bless you guys. Thank you for letting me see what you do every day. Truly it was an honor,” Habba said after the arrest.
Three other suspected shooters and a weapons trafficker remain under investigation as the multi-agency task force continues its efforts to curb violent crime in Newark.
