SHARONVILLE, Ohio – Alicia Joyce Bryant, 54, was arrested Saturday evening after leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 275 in Sharonville.
The incident began just after 5:30 p.m., when Sharonville police initiated a routine traffic stop on Canal Road. During the stop, Bryant allegedly drove off, hitting the front of an officer’s car before heading north on Canal Road. Police say she then turned east onto Kemper Road, reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour, before merging onto I-275 eastbound.
As Bryant continued her flight, officers used multiple sets of stop sticks to slow her down. Once her vehicle was finally brought to a stop, Bryant fled on foot. However, police were able to catch up to her, and she was taken into custody.
Bryant now faces several charges, including failure to comply with a police officer, attempted assault on a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also cited for expired tags.
In the car with Bryant was Kevin Gabbard, 45, who was arrested and charged with drug possession.
The chase resulted in the temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of I-275 as officers worked to secure the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the pursuit.
