Alfred Johnson Gets Two Life Sentences in Mobile

Convicted in 2024 murder and attempted murder

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — Alfred Johnson has been sentenced to two concurrent life sentences for his role in a deadly March 2024 shooting, Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announced.

On March 22, 2024, Johnson shot and killed Cory Evans and critically wounded a female victim in the driveway of a home on Lundy Lane. After the attack, Johnson attempted to flee and hide the gun but was later arrested when he returned to the scene.

At trial, Johnson claimed self-defense and defense-of-others, but the jury rejected those arguments and found him guilty of Murder and Attempted Murder.

Judge Windom sentenced Johnson late last week, imposing two life terms.

“Cory Evans lost his life, and another victim was left gravely injured,” DA Keith Blackwood said. “This sentence ensures that Johnson will never again have the opportunity to harm another person.”

Johnson’s co-defendant, Sharon Vallare, is awaiting trial, scheduled to begin December 8, 2025.
