A 32-year-old woman from Calhoun County has been arrested after authorities say she extorted a teenage victim using a private image.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced that Alexis Shantel Parker was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with aggravated felony sexual extortion in connection with an alleged incident in late 2025.
According to arrest warrants, Parker is accused of threatening to release a private image of a 15-year-old in an attempt to force the victim to comply with her demands. Investigators say she allegedly sought money from the teen in exchange for deleting or not distributing the photograph.
Authorities stated that as a result of the alleged threats, the victim considered not returning to school and had suicidal thoughts.
SLED officials said interviews with the victim and an adult witness, along with evidence obtained through a search warrant of Parker’s phone, led to the charge.
Parker was booked into the Orangeburg County jail. The case is being prosecuted by the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
