Alexis Ruffin Charged with Aggravated Assault in Jonesboro Incident

Ruffin accused of threatening to stab man during altercation

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Alexis Ruffin, a 26-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony, after an altercation in Jonesboro on December 15, 2023.

Craighead County District Court Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Ruffin on Monday, Dec. 16. Police had responded to a call regarding a weapon at an address on Court Street, where they learned that Ruffin and the victim had been arguing. According to a witness, Ruffin grabbed a knife during the altercation and allegedly attempted to stab the victim. The victim also confirmed this in a statement to officers.

Ruffin admitted to possessing a knife during the dispute but denied attempting to stab anyone. Police collected a knife from the scene as evidence.

Following her arrest, Judge Boling set Ruffin’s bond at $10,000 and ordered that she have no contact with the victim while the case proceeds.
