BOARDMAN, Ohio — Three men were arrested following a violent altercation at a wedding party at Aqua Pazzo, an Italian restaurant in Boardman.
Police responded around 10 p.m. Saturday after reports of a fight involving about 20 people outside the restaurant. Officers arrived to find the crowd gathered aggressively near the entrance. To prevent violence, one officer used pepper spray.
Among those refusing to leave was 28-year-old Alexander Holmes of Warren. He allegedly grabbed an officer’s wrist and vest while trying to re-enter the restaurant. Officers subdued Holmes, who resisted arrest before being handcuffed.
As tensions rose with the departing crowd, several local police agencies were called to assist, including the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.
During the incident, 32-year-old Speros Theofilos of Tampa, Florida, reportedly punched an officer in the neck. Despite efforts to restrain him, Theofilos continued to fight until a stun gun was used.
Additionally, 57-year-old John Holmes, also from Tampa, was arrested after allegedly punching a man three times in the face, causing bruising.
All three men were taken to Mahoning County Jail. Charges include felony assault, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest. They appeared in county court Tuesday.
