Albany Arrests: Shequan Canteen & Fasimba Paul in Drug Raid

Two individuals arrested on drug charges following police raid

Albany, NY (WRGB) — Two people were arrested in Albany on Tuesday night after a police raid at a residence on Quail Street.

At around 10 p.m. on December 10, officers from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, along with New York State Parole Officers, conducted a routine home visit to check on a parolee at a residence on Quail Street. During the visit, they discovered that Shequan G. Canteen, 39, who is currently on parole for prior weapon and drug convictions, was in possession of around 10 grams of crack cocaine.

Another resident of the home, 45-year-old Fasimba K. Paul, was reportedly found with approximately 172 grams of cocaine and $18,000 in cash. Authorities also seized a digital scale typically used for weighing and packaging drugs for distribution.

Canteen has been charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Paul is facing more serious charges, including second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Both individuals were taken into custody and are being held at the Albany County Correctional Facility, where they await arraignment.
