ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – A routine traffic stop in Rocky Mount on Saturday led to the arrest of a man now facing multiple drug and firearm charges, according to the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they stopped a vehicle in the Rocky Mount area for traffic violations. During the stop, probable cause was established, leading officers to search the vehicle.
The search uncovered 8.2 grams of crack cocaine and a concealed firearm.
The driver, Alan Satterwhite, a Rocky Mount resident, was immediately arrested and charged with:
Felony Carrying a Concealed Gun
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute Cocaine
Felony Possession of Cocaine
Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance
Failure to Maintain Lane Control
Satterwhite was transported to the Edgecombe County Detention Center, where he is being held under a $50,000 secured bond.
Authorities say investigations into the case are ongoing, and further charges may follow.
