WHEELING, IL — Alan I. Diaz-Suarez, a 37-year-old resident of Wheeling, is being held at the Cook County Jail on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Diaz-Suarez, who resides on the 300 block of North Inland Avenue, is facing two felony counts of assault dating back to incidents that occurred nearly a decade ago.
The charges stem from an investigation launched earlier this month when one of the two accusers came forward, revealing that the abuse took place in Palatine in 2018. A second accuser, a relative of the first, reported similar incidents in 2016, also in Palatine.
Diaz-Suarez was arrested by Palatine police on Thursday and is scheduled to appear in a Rolling Meadows courtroom on February 21 for his next hearing. The investigation continues as authorities address the serious allegations against him.
