In a major blow to local drug networks, the Thrissur police have arrested three young men, including two brothers, in a drug bust at Nedupuzha, recovering 4 kilograms of cannabis and 70 grams of MDMA.
The raid was conducted at a rented house on Mashupadi Road, where the accused were allegedly preparing the drugs for sale. The arrests were made as part of “Operation D-Hunt,” a district-wide anti-drug initiative supervised by District Police Chief R. Elanko.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Thekkilakkadan Alan (19), Arimpur
Thekkilakkadan Arun (25), his elder brother
Kanakkapadikkal Anjaneyan (19), Aranattukara
According to police sources, Alan and Arun had been under surveillance for several days based on a tip-off that they were planning to distribute MDMA and cannabis in the area.
Vehicles used by the accused have also been seized, and all three are being charged under the NDPS Act. Authorities said the bust is part of a larger crackdown on narcotics in the region, with more arrests likely as investigations continue.
