PERRIS, Calif. — A multi-agency task force led by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested five individuals, including a teenager, on Wednesday in connection to organized retail thefts in Perris and Corona.
The investigation began after deputies responded to a July 11 theft at a business in the 2500 block of North Perris Boulevard, near Orange Avenue. Authorities later discovered that the same group was allegedly responsible for another theft just a day earlier at a business in Corona.
Search warrants were executed at four different locations, where deputies recovered stolen goods along with an unregistered firearm, brass knuckles, and illegal fireworks.
The following individuals were taken into custody:
Akon Perry, 20, of Fontana – organized retail theft and grand theft
Deion Love, 18, of Rialto – organized retail theft and grand theft
Unnamed 16-year-old, of Rialto – organized retail theft and grand theft
Donald Brown, 34, of Rialto – possession of brass knuckles and illegal fireworks
Robert Love, 45, of Rialto – felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition
The suspects are believed to be part of a larger organized effort targeting retail stores across the region.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could follow.
