Akash Manzoor Nabbed in Kulgam Drug Bust at Checkpoint

1.5 kg of charas seized; FIR registered in Qaimoh station

As part of its ongoing crackdown on narcotics, J&K Police arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of contraband at a checkpoint in Khudwani Bypass, Qaimoh.

The accused, identified as Akash Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie and a resident of Guree, Bijebhara, was intercepted by a patrol team from Police Station Qaimoh.

During the search, authorities recovered 1.547 kg of charas-like substance along with Rs 2,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

Following the arrest, a case has been registered under FIR No. 38/2025, and an investigation is currently underway to trace the supply network and possible accomplices.

In a public statement, the police urged citizens to support law enforcement in its mission to eliminate the drug menace from society.
