Mandsaur police have apprehended Ajay Rathore and Aditya Paliwal, key members of a gang accused of defrauding investors of more than Rs 20 crore through a fraudulent company named Krolic.
According to Mandsaur SP Vinod Kumar Meena, the duo was tracked down in Faridabad, Haryana, after evading authorities for nearly a year using advanced technical methods. Rathore, a resident of Malhargarh and an ethical hacking course graduate, reportedly used his technical expertise to conceal his location, while Paliwal, from Pipliamandi, assisted in luring investors with promises of up to 15% returns through a chain-based system.
Initially, some investors received small payouts, boosting confidence and prompting more deposits. Once significant funds were collected, the gang ceased operations and vanished.
A special police team analysed digital footprints, proxy networks, virtual locations, and SIM-less devices to locate the absconders. During the arrest, authorities seized a laptop, an iPad, three mobile phones, and a four-wheeler worth around Rs 20 lakh.
The case is registered at YD Nagar police station under relevant sections of the BNS and the Protection of Interests of Depositors Act. Interrogation is underway to recover remaining funds and identify other participants or beneficiaries of the scam.
