In a swift breakthrough, the Gurugram police have arrested the accused in the murder of Kumar Gaurav Singh, a 38-year-old clerk employed at a transport company in Kankrola village near Manesar. His body was discovered on the morning of October 22 in the IMT Manesar area.

Police identified the deceased as a native of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, who lived in a rented house close to his workplace. Following the discovery, an FIR for murder was registered at the IMT Manesar police station.

After an intensive investigation, the police team arrested Ajay alias Bhuwani (34), a resident of Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, for his involvement in the crime. The police also recovered the victim’s mobile phone from his possession.

During interrogation, Ajay confessed that he worked as a labourer and had a heated argument with Gaurav on the night of October 21. In a fit of rage, he struck Gaurav on the head with a crutch, causing fatal injuries. The accused then fled the scene with Gaurav’s mobile phone and wallet.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody for further questioning. Authorities are investigating whether robbery was the sole motive or if there was a personal dispute behind the murder.
