In a visa scam that has shocked Ahmedabad, Chirag Sihora, an immigration agent operating out of KBC Immigration Services in Navrangpura, was arrested by the Udhna police for allegedly defrauding a man of Rs21 lakh. The victim, Kamlesh Patel from Palasana, had approached Sihora for assistance in securing a work permit visa for his son, Vedant, who had completed his hotel management studies in Singapore.
Sihora initially quoted Rs23 lakh for the visa process, promising Patel that he would successfully obtain the visa for Vedant to work in London. After receiving the payment, however, Sihora failed to fulfill his promise. He only repaid Rs2 lakh to Patel, instructing him to collect the remaining amount from two other agents: Utsav Patel in Petlad and Gaurang Patel in Vadodara.
Realizing he had been scammed, Kamlesh Patel filed a complaint with the Udhna police, who launched an investigation into the case. Following the probe, Chirag Sihora was arrested in Ahmedabad, while the police are working to track down the other two agents involved in the fraudulent scheme.
The Udhna police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend Utsav Patel and Gaurang Patel, who are believed to be part of the scam network. Authorities have urged the public to be cautious when dealing with immigration agents or individuals offering visa services, especially when large sums of money are involved.
