Agra, Uttar Pradesh – A shocking case of domestic homicide has surfaced in Agra, where a woman named Gajna was arrested for allegedly killing her 9-year-old nephew Aarav Singh by electrocution, police confirmed on Monday.
The boy went missing Saturday afternoon, and his lifeless body was discovered in a bathroom on the terrace by a cousin the following day. Family members rushed Aarav to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Following a complaint by the family, a police investigation quickly pointed suspicion toward Gajna, the wife of the child’s uncle, Veer Singh. During interrogation, she allegedly confessed to the crime.
According to police, Gajna was jealous of the affection her husband showed Aarav and resentful that money and attention were often directed toward the child. With no children of her own, this jealousy reportedly escalated into murderous intent.
“She admitted to the act, citing ongoing frustration and jealousy as her motive,” said ACP Mayank Tiwari, adding that the postmortem confirmed death by electrocution.
Neighbours described the family as generally close-knit but noted that Gajna often displayed irritation toward the boy, whom her husband treated affectionately.
Gajna has been arrested and presented before the court. The tragic incident has shocked the local community.
