Agartala city police successfully apprehended three notorious motorbike lifters from two different locations in the city on Monday, recovering two stolen bikes and some gold jewelry in the process.
According to police sources, on Sunday night, a bike was stolen by Nibash Debbarma from the Madhupur area under the Sepahijala district. Early Monday morning, police from the Amtali police station arrested Debbarma while he was riding the stolen bike.
In a separate operation, police personnel from the New Capital Complex (NCC) police station arrested two other infamous bike lifters, identified as Salim Miah and Mohammad Sahim. Along with a stolen new bike, police also recovered some gold jewelry from their possession.
The police are preparing to present all three accused before the local court on Tuesday with remand requests for interrogation, aiming to uncover more details about their bike theft network.
