In a major anti-drug operation, the Mangaluru Police arrested six interstate suspects allegedly involved in transporting and selling banned narcotic substances targeting the city’s educational institutions and youth.
The operation was carried out jointly by officers from the Mangaluru South Police Station and Mangaluru North Police Station following specific intelligence about drug peddling in the city.
The arrested individuals are:
Mohammed Sayyed Afridi (26), native of Koteshwara in Udupi district, residing in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru
Maksud Nag (23), from Balmata, Mangaluru
Ahmed Ali Arvan (22), originally from Koteshwara, Udupi district, living in Pandeshwar
Felix P. Joseph (20), from Kottayam, Kerala
Edal Roche (33), from Kankanady, Mangaluru
Aaron Vishal Lasrado (18), from Mallikatte, Kadri in Mangaluru
During the investigation, police discovered that the accused were procuring narcotic substances from Bengaluru and Mumbai before distributing them in Mangaluru, primarily targeting college students and young women.
Authorities seized 53.87 grams of MDMA, around 163 grams of hydro-weed (ganja), and 1 kg 155 grams of ganja, along with two vehicles—a MG Hector and a Maruti Swift—used in the alleged drug trade.
On March 4, 2026, police from the Mangaluru South Police Station raided Classic Comfort Lodge on Badria Road, where four of the accused had rented a room and were allegedly selling drugs to college students and women.
In a separate operation on the same day, officers from the Mangaluru North Police Station arrested Edal Roche and Aaron Vishal Lasrado near Green Park Ground in Bunder, where they were reportedly selling narcotics from a Swift car.
Further investigation is underway to trace the wider interstate network involved in the drug trafficking operation.
