LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles model accused of using dating apps to target and burglarize victims is now facing multiple felony charges.
Adva Lavie has been placed on home detention and is being monitored with an ankle bracelet while her case moves through the court system. She pleaded not guilty in November, according to online court records.
Prosecutors say Lavie faces several charges, including burglary and extortion. Her next court appearance is scheduled for January 14.
Investigators allege Lavie met victims through dating apps and built personal relationships before stealing from them. Detectives say she posed as a romantic partner or travel companion, gaining access to victims’ homes where she allegedly took cash, credit cards and luxury designer items.
Authorities say Lavie targeted wealthy older men as well as younger women. Detectives also report that additional alleged victims have recently come forward as the investigation continues.
