A 24-year-old Toronto man, Adrian Gordon Jr., is facing a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Jesse Tubbs, a 30-year-old from Mississauga. Gordon had been wanted under a Canada-wide warrant after Tubbs was found with severe trauma in the early hours of May 22.
Toronto police responded to a call at the intersection of Isabella and Jarvis streets, where they discovered Tubbs lying unconscious at the back of a building. Paramedics transported him to a local trauma center in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries four days later, on May 26.
Following the attack, a warrant for Gordon’s arrest was issued. On August 19, he was located and arrested in Luton, England. Gordon is currently in custody in the United Kingdom while awaiting extradition to Canada.
The Toronto Police Service, along with the RCMP, Interpol, and the UK’s National Crime Agency, worked together to locate and arrest Gordon. The investigation, led by the Centralized Shooting Response Team and Homicide Unit, is ongoing, and the public has been thanked for their support and cooperation throughout the process.
