In a significant action against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the Pali division arrested Narendra Singh, a Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Inspector, for accepting a bribe of Rs4,000. Singh was apprehended in the act of taking the bribe in exchange for expediting the approval of a business verification file, bypassing penalties that would have been imposed.

The complaint came from a local business owner, whose firm was under verification. Singh allegedly demanded Rs4,000 to process the file and avoid penal action. After receiving the complaint, the ACB initiated a covert investigation, confirming the bribe solicitation.

A special team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kheev Singh, set a trap to catch the corrupt officer. The team successfully nabbed Narendra Singh on Thursday, with the bribe money in hand. As soon as Singh realized that ACB officers were closing in, he attempted to discard the bribe money on the road, but the ACB swiftly recovered the cash, securing undeniable evidence of the bribery.

Singh’s arrest is a part of the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s ongoing efforts to root out corruption within government officials, sending a strong message about accountability and transparency in public service. The investigation is ongoing to determine if other illicit activities were linked to the inspector.
