Sullia police have arrested a fraud accused who had been absconding for nearly four years in connection with a case registered at the Sullia Police Station. The accused was traced and arrested in Bengaluru, officials said.
The arrested individual has been identified as Nagesh, a resident of Kaduru village. He was named as an accused in a fraud case and had been deliberately evading court proceedings by failing to appear before the court for the past four years.
A police team comprising Ramesh and Shreeshaila of the Sullia Police successfully tracked Nagesh and arrested him on Thursday at Chikkabidarikallu in Bengaluru. Following his arrest, he was produced before the court.
The court subsequently remanded the accused to judicial custody, bringing an end to his prolonged evasion of law. Further legal proceedings in the case are expected to continue.
