Authorities in Jharkhand’s Chatra district arrested two individuals on Saturday evening for suspected involvement in drug trafficking. The operation, conducted near a football ground in the Gidhaur police station area, resulted in the seizure of 286 grams of brown sugar, valued at approximately Rs60 lakh.
The accused were identified as Abhimanyu Kumar Sao (20) and Nitesh Kumar (19). The arrests were confirmed by Chatra Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar Agarwal.
In addition to the narcotics, police recovered five mobile phones and an electronic weighing scale, further implicating the duo in illegal drug operations.
The investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the drugs and map out the broader network behind the trafficking activity.
