In coordinated operations across Anantnag and Pulwama, police arrested five drug peddlers and recovered a substantial quantity of cannabis from their possession.
Abdul Wahid Khan of Cheni Chowk and Amir Yousaf Khan of Maliknag, Anantnag, were apprehended at Beig Bagh, Sarnal, with 641 grams of cannabis-like substance in their possession.
In Krangsoo village, authorities seized 7.6 kilograms of cannabis powder from Kaiser Shakeel Wani and Firdous Ahmad Poya, both residents of Pehroo, who were subsequently arrested.
Meanwhile, in Pulwama, Sharik Ahmad Dar of Litter was caught with 266.5 grams of cannabis powder and taken into custody.
Cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at local police stations, and investigations are ongoing.
