In a successful drug bust, Assam Police arrested Abdul Kader (25) from Khanapara after a tip-off led to a raid in the area. During the operation, police recovered 24.7 grams of suspected heroin, concealed in three tobacco boxes. The authorities also seized several incriminating items, including 21 empty vials, a cell phone, Rs 130 in cash, and a Pulsar motorcycle with the registration number AS 17M 5494.

The arrested individual, Abdul Kader, is the son of Md. Basir Uddin and resides in Sawkuchi, Joy Ram Medhi Path, under Basistha Police Station in Kamrup (M) district. His permanent address is listed as Vedlo (Udarshor) village in Dhubri district.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine any potential links to larger drug networks operating in the region. This raid highlights the efforts of law enforcement to curb the growing issue of drug trafficking in Assam.

In related developments, Guwahati Police also cracked down on illegal activities across the city, with multiple raids leading to arrests and seizures. A team from Odalbakra OP seized 50 liters of country-made liquor from a gathering at Beltoli Pahar, and Bharalumukh PS arrested Jahanra Begam (48) for the theft of an old X-ray machine part from Swagat Hospital, which was recovered from her scrap yard in Bhotnath. Additionally, a team from Basistha PS arrested three alleged drug peddlers—Rakibuddun Ali, Santosh Gogoi, and Raju Deka—during another raid in Khanapara, recovering 45.71 grams of heroin and 44 empty vials. Legal proceedings are underway in all cases.
