by Amelia Crawford

Accra, Ghana — Abdul Hannan Wahab, the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), has been arrested during a coordinated operation conducted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The simultaneous raids in Accra and Tamale also resulted in the detention of another unidentified individual believed to be linked to ongoing investigations surrounding financial irregularities and procurement violations at NAFCO.

Sources close to the matter say the arrests are part of EOCO’s intensified efforts to combat suspected economic crimes involving public officials.

While EOCO has not yet released an official statement, insiders confirm that both suspects are currently cooperating with authorities as investigations proceed.
