Kozhikode: In a significant breakthrough, the Kozhikode Cyber Police arrested 21-year-old Abdul Fattah from Muttancherry in connection with a 2023 cybercrime case.

Fattah, son of Mannarath Ummer, was taken into custody on Friday, September 26, after a prolonged two-year investigation. Authorities revealed that several bank accounts opened in his name were allegedly used to receive and route large sums of money tied to an online scam operated through the Telegram messaging app.

The cyber fraud case, registered in 2023, involved digital financial transactions under false pretenses, with victims reportedly duped through manipulated communications on Telegram.

Following his arrest, Fattah was produced before a magistrate and has been remanded in judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to trace the complete network behind the fraudulent scheme.
