GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) — A Glasgow woman is facing an attempted murder charge following a violent domestic incident that left a man with a serious stab wound.
According to the Glasgow Police Department, officers responded to a home on Frazier Avenue where they found a man in the roadway suffering from a stab wound to his left arm. The injury was severe enough that an officer applied a tourniquet before the man was transported to a Nashville hospital for treatment.
Police say 39-year-old Abbi R. Sovine stabbed the man during what they described as a “domestic situation.” Sovine was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder (domestic violence).
Authorities have not released further details about what led up to the stabbing, citing an active investigation. The man’s identity has not been confirmed, and Glasgow Police declined to elaborate further, warning that additional information could compromise the case.
Court documents show Sovine previously filed for a domestic violence order earlier this year against an unnamed man, but the petition was dismissed when she failed to appear in court. It’s unclear if that case is related to the current incident.
WBKO requested Sovine’s arrest citation, but it was heavily redacted, offering no insight into the events leading up to the stabbing.
