MADISON, Wis. — A Baraboo man has been arrested on multiple serious charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide and threatening public officials, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
Aaron Gerike, 45, was taken into custody on March 4. Law enforcement reported that he is also accused of making terroristic threats, threatening law enforcement officers, threatening a judge, stalking, possession of illegal weapons, and bail jumping.
Following his arrest, Sauk and Dane County authorities served a search warrant at Gerike’s home in the Town of Excelsior and seized several pieces of evidence. Officials did not disclose the details of the items recovered.
Multiple agencies assisted in the arrest and search, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Authorities said Gerike could face additional charges as the investigation continues. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
