RALEIGH COUNTY, WV — A traffic stop in Beaver, West Virginia, led to a significant methamphetamine seizure and the arrest of a 46-year-old woman.
According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Cpl. J. Howard initiated the stop on Monday, September 8, 2025, near I-64. During the investigation, deputies requested support from K9 Grom and his handler, Cpl. J. Hensley.
K9 Grom alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed approximately 90 grams of methamphetamine.
The suspect, Melissa Eugenia Raines, was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver. She is currently being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
