The Dundigal Police have cracked a major jewellery burglary case, arresting three suspects from Telangana and Rajasthan and recovering nearly 15 kg of stolen silver, officials announced on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Chetan Prakash of Secunderabad, Sirajuddin of Ajmer, and Kalu Kag alias Kaluram of Medchal. The burglary occurred on November 8 at Someshwar Jewellery in Bowrampet, where thieves gained entry by drilling a hole through the shutter of an adjacent vacant property.
According to police, the trio had strategically rented the neighboring premises to execute the break-in. They arrived in a Bolero vehicle, used a crowbar to breach the shop, and escaped with approximately 15 kg of silver ornaments.
A special team traced Chetan Prakash and Sirajuddin to Rajasthan, arresting them on November 19. Kaluram was arrested a week later in Bahadurpally. The police recovered 3.5 kg of silver from Kaluram, while the remaining stolen material was seized in Bengaluru.
Authorities said that three additional suspects involved in the heist are still on the run, and efforts are underway to track them down.
