The Guntur district CCS police have arrested two inter-State burglars along with a receiver of stolen property, recovering gold and silver ornaments worth Rs26.5 lakh connected to four house-theft cases.

District SP Vakul Jindal shared the details during a media briefing at the District Police Office on Monday and commended both the CCS and Lalapeta police teams for their swift and coordinated investigation.

According to officials, the arrested burglars — Chillara Suresh (38), a repeat offender from Gorantla in Guntur, and Kaja Nagaveera Bhaskar Rao (24) of Ramalingeswara Nagar in Vijayawada — were involved in a burglary reported on November 12 in Sampath Nagar.

The complainant, Venkata Appayya Shastri, returned from Tirupati to find his home broken into and 152 grams of gold missing. Lalapeta police registered the case, eventually leading to the arrests and recovery of the stolen valuables.
