WILMINGTON, N.C. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion that occurred in Wilmington on October 31.
Wilmington Police Department (WPD) officers responded just after 11 p.m. to a residence in the 300 block of South Kerr Avenue. According to investigators, masked suspects armed with guns forced their way inside using a crowbar while the victim was asleep. The intruders assaulted the victim and stole money, jewelry, and a safe.
Detectives identified 27-year-old Torrelle Shaw-Johnson and 18-year-old Selwyn Davis as the suspects. Warrants were obtained by the WPD Gang Unit. Shaw-Johnson was taken into custody by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, while Davis was arrested without incident at the Probation Office. A search warrant was also executed at Davis’ residence for additional evidence.

Both suspects are being held without bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
The investigation involved cooperation between WPD, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Special Operations and Intelligence Unit, and North Carolina Probation.
