The Delhi Police have arrested 24-year-old Tarun, popularly known as Gadam Wala, a notorious habitual offender with an extensive criminal record. Tarun had been on the run for over seven months following a high-profile chain-snatching incident in Karol Bagh involving a visiting NRI woman on April 13.
Authorities revealed that Tarun, along with an accomplice, carried out the daylight robbery, fleeing the scene on a stolen scooter. Despite initial challenges, Delhi Police tracked him to Aman Vihar, leading to his capture.
During interrogation, Tarun admitted to committing the crime, citing a need for quick cash to fuel his drug addiction. Officials stated that he has 68 criminal cases registered against him, marking him as a high-risk habitual offender.
The police continue to investigate Tarun’s extensive criminal history, with efforts underway to identify any additional accomplices and pending cases.
