Pratapgarh police arrested Santosh Vishwakarma (40) on Thursday for allegedly stabbing his 38-year-old wife to death at Station Road Colony under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Nagar police station. The police recovered the knife used in the killing.
Santosh told investigators that he committed the crime on Wednesday morning after his children left for school and then fled the scene. He cited suspicion of his wife having illicit relations as the motive behind the murder.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
