Surveillance links Lillington man to felony larceny

A Lillington man is facing felony charges after investigators reviewed surveillance footage allegedly showing him stealing merchandise from the Aberdeen Walmart, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Officers responded to the store on October 12 after a reported larceny. Although police were given a suspect and vehicle description, they were unable to locate the individual at the time.

According to investigators, surveillance footage confirmed that the suspect entered the store and selected numerous items—including meats, tools, and electronics—totaling more than $1,700, before leaving without attempting to pay.

By November 3, officers had identified 29-year-old Lenterrell Ray as the suspect. Warrants were issued charging him with felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property, though attempts to locate him in Aberdeen were initially unsuccessful.

Ray was later arrested on November 21 by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken before a Harnett County magistrate, where he received a $50,000 secured bond.

All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
