A Southern Pines man is facing multiple charges after deputies recovered equipment allegedly stolen during a break-in at Dormie Club Golf Course, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the course on November 23 after several pieces of equipment were reported stolen from a secured maintenance area. Following leads, investigators located the missing items on a nearby property, where all of the equipment was recovered and returned to Dormie Club.
During the investigation, deputies identified 27-year-old Jacob Armstrong as a suspect. Armstrong was arrested and charged with:
Felony breaking and entering
Felony larceny after breaking and entering
Felony possession of stolen goods
Multiple counts of felony larceny, including motor vehicle theft
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Injury to personal property
First-degree trespassing
Armstrong was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under no bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on December 18.
